The Big Picture

Everything that trees affect, and everything affecting trees.

What Will Happen?

Assessing your trees' needs can be complicated. Let's start by making the process simple.

Call us on the telephone at (206) 351-6655 or email . Please leave your name, phone number, address, a brief description of anything you want addressed, and any concerns you may have.

Result:

  1. An ISA Certified Arborist will be on site to meet you and your trees within 24 hours or on a day of your choice
  2. You will get a free assessment of every tree you have and a brief education on tree care
  3. You will get a proposal and a reasonable, ethical price (not an estimate) on the spot
  4. Should or when you wish to proceed the work shall be completed as proposed within 10 business days if not sooner.

Our Promise:

  • You will not be placed into a software bidding platform, spammed, or have to wait days for your quote.
  • You will not be billed unless you are completely satisfied with the work as proposed.
  • Arborist Alliance is more concerned about your trees and our urban environment than extracting your money.

Your trees and landscape comprise a fraction of what our urban environment was. At the same time, your trees and landscape represent all of what we have now and our future.

Whatever you wish done to them represents:

  1. The future of our existing urban landscape
  2. The value of your home, and future costs of sewer, foundation, and electrical maintenance
  3. Your personal safety and the quality of your immediate environment
  4. The quality of life for residents of Seattle for generations to come
  5. When and if you have time, we urge you to refer to The Big Picture

What Has Happened?

Arborist Alliance analyzes the needs of your trees based on paleoclimatology: from 38,000 years ago until now.

We take into consideration:

  • A detailed chronological history of the last 38,000 years
  • A thorough understanding of all factors during the above time span
  • The consequences of past human behavior
  • The history of tree care practices
  • What to expect from pruning or removing your trees now and how that will affect your future

The above should be mandatory knowledge for any "qualified" tree service. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Seattle is inundated with tree services proudly displaying their logos and equipment, advertising heavily and overcharging customers with little to no knowledge of The Big Picture, or Preventative Maintenance.

Our Story

Robert Gandt, founder of Arborist Alliance, began working at age 15 with William C. Bader (a founding member of the Connecticut Tree Protection Association) conducting early field studies on soil porosity and its effects on trees.

Since 1978, Robert has studied soil porosity, plant pathology, pest control, pruning techniques and their corresponding results, and conducted control group-based studies to arrive at empirical evidence of tree care results. Robert has owned, operated, and managed tree care services in Seattle since 1985.

Robert is among the most experienced living arborists in Seattle, having climbed and worked on trees for more than 40 years, and still operates to this day.
